Quincy man arrested after 100 grams of meth, semi automatic pistol found in residence

QUINCY — A Quincy man is in the Adams County Jail facing drug and weapons charges.

The Quincy Police Department’s Emergency Response Team, assisted by the Illinois State Police West Central Illinois Task Force, executed a search warrant on Friday at 1212 Werner. During a search of the residence, officers found numerous items indicative of drug sales, more than 100 grams of methamphetamine and a semi automatic pistol with a 30-round extended magazine.

Arrested as a result of the search warrant was Nicholas O. Gavin, 29, He faces charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, armed violence, felon in possession of a weapon, possession with intent to deliver cannabis and an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation due to being on parole for a 2015 aggravated discharge of a firearm conviction.
