STEM lab at St. Peter School to offer Rube Goldberg Science Fair on March 11

William Johnson Scholz STEM Lab

QUINCY — The Wilhelm Johnson Scholz STEM Lab will be the site of the first Rube Goldberg Science Fair from 1:15 to 2 p.m. March 11 at St. Peter School, 2500 Maine. This fair will be prepared by students in grades 4-6 who learned of Rube Goldberg during STEM class. The students have created machines that mimic Goldberg’s iconic machines to complete a simple task of their choosing in a “not so simple way.”

The science fair will involve 27 different groups of students modeling how the machines they designed operate. The students will apply their knowledge of simple machines and types of energy through their presentations to the public. Each design will be voted on during the fair.
