LIBERTY, Ill. — Liberty Elementary School recently participated in Book Blast, a program that helps schools/students raise money for books to help increase home libraries. Every student is guaranteed at least one book through this program.

Students in pre-K through sixth grade opened their packages of books on Thursday, May 18. They raised enough money to buy at least three books for every student.  However, many received the limit of 10 books.

People from all over the United States made donations, and the school collected $26,614 during a two-week donation period. Fourth graders made a daily video to update families and the community about the current donation amount to be posted on the school Facebook page.
