MEYER Ill. — Red Dog Saloon in Meyer raised $40,000 for Fishing for Freedom at the saloon’s fundraising event Sept. 17, bringing the grand total raised by the saloon during the past eight years to $200,000.

Red Dog has been the event’s largest sponsor for several years, and the staff’s efforts to raise awareness and funding for Fishing for Freedom continues.

Next year’s Fishing for Freedom event will be on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at Red Dog Saloon. The annual Fishing for Freedom warrior fishing tournament will be held June 2-4, 2023.
