CANTON, Mo. — U.S. News and World Report recently released its list of “2022 Best Colleges and Universities,” and Culver-Stockton College again earned three rankings among Midwest colleges, elevating its position from last year in all categories.

U.S. News and World Report has been providing since 1983 nearly 50 different types of numerical rankings of colleges and universities that reflect academic performance. The rankings Culver-Stockton received are within the Midwest Region, which consists of  colleges from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

C-SC was named 34th Best Regional College, an increase of two spot from the previous year’s ranking. Of all schools — national universities, national liberal arts colleges, regional colleges and regional universities — the top half are further ranked into Best Value Schools. C-SC was ranked No. 16, an increase of five spots over the 2021 ranking.

C-SC was ranked 17th among the top schools for social mobility, a jump of 20 spots from 2021.

Dr. Douglas B. Palmer, the college’s president, credited the cohesiveness of the C-SC community to the improved rankings.

“Extraordinary faculty who are committed to academic excellence, combined with staff who work diligently to provide best value, all come together to afford our students the best education in a supportive environment.” Palmer said in a press release. “The value of a liberal arts education is unmatched in today’s economy, and we are confident our experiential curriculum and supportive learning environment will continue to prepare our students for a dynamic world.”
