College students can apply for $500 scholarship from Pike County Sheriff’s Office

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association will be awarding more than $58,000 in college scholarships throughout the state to students wishing to pursue higher education ring the 2022-23 academic year. The scholarships are for tuition, books and fees.

Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood will be awarding a scholarship for $500. A committee made up of citizens of Pike County will select the recipient.

There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national origin. The only limitations are:

  • Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents
  • Scholarships must be utilized at institutions of higher learning in Illinois. Full-time online learning is acceptable.
  • Students must be a full-time student during the 2022-23 school year (excluding summer session).

Applications are available at your local sheriff’s office or on the ISA website. Students must complete the application, answer the essay question and return all documentation to the sheriff’s office in their county of residence by March 15 (must be postmarked by this date).
