HANNIBAL, Mo. – Upcoming exhibits at the Hannibal Arts Council include an invitational group exhibit, an open exhibit of area artists’ recent work and two digital photography exhibits, including the first-ever featured youth photographer.

Five artists will be featured in the “A Curious Collection” invitational group exhibit — painter David Awbrey of Pittsfield, Ill., painter Melissa Dominiak of Hannibal, Mo., mixed-media artist Kathy Hyer of Quincy, Ill., clay sculptor Steve Jones of Wentzville and raku potter Steve Ryan of Quincy, Ill. In addition to the invitational group exhibit, “What’s New Pussycat” is an open exhibit of submitted area artists’ most recent work. The Photography Channel features submitted digital images with a sunrise/sunset theme and featured youth photographer, 13-year-old Jake Pendergrass of Hannibal.

An exhibit opening will be held from 5-7 p.m. March 4, with an artist talk at 6 p.m. The exhibits run through March 26 at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main. The exhibits are sponsored by Commerce Bank, Dubach Inn Bed & Breakfast and P&D Electric, with additional funding from the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

HAC gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
