QUINCY — Hannibal area resident Brittany James is teaming with local Christian radio station WGCA-FM 88.5 to coordinate a women’s conference Saturday at Town and Country Inn and Suites.

The sixth annual Love and Fire Women’s Conference will be a day-long event, beginning at 8 a.m. Individual tickets and group rates are available, according to Bob Daly, executive director of WGCA, the region’s contemporary Christian station.

The event will feature a variety of bands and speakers and will be catered by Tiramisu.

“Sometimes, you just need to fill up your spiritual tank,” James said. “That’s what this event is for, and it doesn’t matter where you are at in your (spiritual journey) — you need to be encouraged. Women wear a lot of hats. There are so many things that we do.”

James said the conference will emphasize building a stronger relationship with God. Daly said the event is not targeting any specific denomination.

“Everyone is welcome,” he said. “The mission of this event is much like the mission of WGCA itself — it’s about positivity. This is an important event for the Tri-State area.”

Registration details and other information are both available at wgca.org. Individuals may also contact WGCA at 217-224-9422.
