Marjorie E. Hoebing, age 97, of Port Orange Florida, died on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 9:20 pm at Wickshire Senior Living, Port Orange, Florida.

Marjorie was born July 14, 1927 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Albert and Ella Taylor Hillebrenner. She met Bob Hoebing at he Maid Rite during high school. On April 12,1947, she married Robert J. “Bob” Hoebing, Sr. in the Navel Chapel in Memphis, Tennessee.

She attended Emerson Elementary school, Quincy Junior High school and Quincy High School, graduating in 1945. She was employed at Gardner Denver from 1945 until 1947. After her marriage to Bob, they lived in Memphis TN while he was in the Armed Services (Navy) and she worked in banking before moved back to Quincy, Illinois where she continued working at Gardner Denver.

Marjorie was a Cub Scout Den leader and was involved with the PTA at St. John’s grade school, St. Dominic’s grade school, Notre Dame and Christian Brothers high school. She was a member of Salem church in Quincy and Altamonte Chapel, United Church of Christ in Altamonte Springs Florida.

Marjorie was a homemaker and stay at home mom, raising four children Cherie, Robert II, Ted and Brad. She was known for decorating cakes and her baked goods as well as raising champion Yorkshire terriers. In 1987 Marjorie and her husband Robert moved to Florida. She was proceeded in death by her parents Albert and Ella Hillebrenner, Robert, her husband, and Harold Hillebrenner, her brother.

Survivors include her daughter Cherie Tucker and her husband Keith of Fountain Valley, CA three sons Robert II of Port Orange, FL Ted and his wife Tammy of Sarasota, FL and Brad from Tucson, Arizona three grandchildren Nicloe Robideau, Ashley Tucker and Travis Tucker four great grandchildren Zerek and Mason Peters, Connor and Landon Robideau.

Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Service: 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the family for a memorial fund to be selected at a later date.
