Dot Foods and Dot Transportation honor 12 veteran employees with Quilts of Valor

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — The Quilts of Valor Foundation presented quilts to 12 Dot Foods and Dot Transportation, Inc. employees during a ceremony held this spring in Mount Sterling. The event honored their service in the U.S. military.
Dot’s Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG) organized the ceremony and recognized the following veteran employees:
- Logan Bridgewater (Chapin) – Army – Dot Transportation, Inc.
- Louis Cunningham (Rushville) – Marines – Dot Transportation, Inc.
- Logan L. Douglas (Quincy) – Army – Dot Foods
- Roland A. Gregory (Winchester) – Army – Dot Foods
- Rhonda Hillwig (Clayton) – Navy – Dot Foods
- Kaden Holmes (Bluffs) – Army National Guard – Dot Foods
- Kevin R. Johnson (Mount Sterling) – Navy – Dot Transportation, Inc.
- Terry J. Leverton (Rushville) – Army – Dot Foods
- Frederick A. Mayes Jr. (Browning) – Army – Dot Transportation, Inc.
- Nicholas Russell (Jacksonville) – Army – Dot Foods
- Kimball D. Sprague II (Mount Sterling) – Army National Guard – Dot Foods
- Cameron Watson (Woodson) – Army – Dot Foods
The Quilts of Valor Foundation is a national nonprofit that creates and awards handmade quilts to service members and veterans touched by war. Each quilt is a personal expression of gratitude, given to honor the recipient’s selfless service and sacrifice in defense of the nation.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the Quilts of Valor Foundation for honoring members of our team in this way,” Dick Tracy, president of Dot Foods, said in a press release. “These employees have given so much in their service to our country, and it means a lot to see that recognized. We’re proud to work alongside them every day.”
Dot Foods supports veterans through its Veterans Employee Resource Group, the company’s only resource group represented at all 13 U.S. distribution centers. VERG provides ongoing support, outreach and career development for veterans and their families, helping create a workplace where service is recognized and valued.
