Patricia “Pat” Wells — O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home

Patricia “Pat” Wells, 69, of Quincy, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Patricia “Pat” was born February 28, 1956, in Springfield, IL to Francis and Vivian (Wewers) Duffy. She was married to Kenneth “Rodney” Wells on November 27, 1976, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Quincy, IL. He survives.

Other survivors include her three children, Stacy Fischer (Eric), Jason Wells, and Derek Wells (Hilary), all of Quincy, IL; five grandchildren, Austin Fischer (Kameron), Abigail Lair (Andrew), Arianna Fischer, Noah Wells, and Carter Wells; two great grandchildren, Ivy Fischer and Sage Fischer; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents.

A proud graduate of Quincy Notre Dame in 1974, Pat’s professional journey led her to a fulfilling career in retail, where she excelled as a store manager until her retirement in 2016. She was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Pat’s zest for life was evident in her diverse interests and hobbies. In her younger years, she traveled with her family to dog shows across the country, showcasing their award-winning Dobermans. A creative soul, Pat found joy in crafting, whether it was making beautiful wreaths, assembling gift baskets, or creating festive Christmas gifts. She had a keen eye for treasures, often frequenting thrift stores and flea markets in search of hidden gems.

An avid reader, Pat’s tastes ranged from the simplicity of Amish books to the thrilling pages of Stephen King novels. Music filled her home, with melodies from Irish tunes to Enya, and the timeless songs of The Beatles. She cherished the times spent playing cards with family and friends, enjoying games like Kings on the Corner, Rummy, and Gin.

Above all, Pat’s heart belonged to her family. She reveled in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, never missing a chance to attend dance recitals and band events, celebrating each milestone with pride and love. Pat’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and family – a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide those she has left behind

Friends and Family are invited to Pat’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 am with Dr. Tom Dickerson officiating.
