Rise in COVID-19 cases reducing local healthcare capacity; here’s where you can get tested in Quincy
QUINCY — The Adams County Health Department is encouraging residents to remain mindful of COVID-19 safety measures. COVID-19 cases regionally as well as in the Quincy community, have notably increased in recent weeks. Increases in hospitalized patients are reducing healthcare capacity in the region.
Residents with a known exposure to COVID-19 or who are experiencing symptoms should be tested at a medical provider so they can receive consultation on potential medical treatments to reduce the impact of a COVID infection. Medical providers are:
- Blessing Express, 420 N. 34th, 217-214-9627. No appointment is required. Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
- Quincy Medical Group, 1025 Maine, 217-222-6550. A physician order is required. Open 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
- SIU Center for Family Medicine, 612 N. 11th, 217-224-9484. For established patients only. Appointments are required. Open 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
People who need a test for reasons other than illness should test at a non-medical provider location to reduce demand on the healthcare system. Available locations are:
- Walgreens, 1723 Broadway, 217-222-0792. Appointments must be scheduled online. Drive-through testing is available. Testing hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
- HyVee, 3700 Broadway, 217-228-1060. Appointments must be scheduled online. Drive-through testing is available. Testing hours are 8-10 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.
- HyVee, 1400 Harrison, 217-224-9442. Appointments must be scheduled online. Drive-through testing is available. Testing hours are 8-10 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.
The Adams County Health Department, 330 Vermont, has COVID-19 vaccine available for anyone age 5 or older. The immunization clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
