Kenneth “Joe” John Hussong — Hansen-Spear

Kenneth (Joe) John Hussong, age 80, of Hannibal, Missouri and formerly of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on June 21, 2025 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Missouri. Born on December 5, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Kenneth and Betty (Nauert) Hussong. He married Patricia Dietrich, she survives. He later married Carol Stout and she survives.
Joe graduated from Quincy High in 1963. After graduation he worked at Electric Wheel and Motorola. He then began his career at Moorman’s where he worked for 43 years where he was a Mineral Supervisor.
Joe had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting and being on the Mississippi River. He also enjoyed bowling, watching racing and playing the slot machines. Joe joined the original Flying Dutchmen Drum & Bugle Corps when he was 12 and was an instructor later on in life. He was a former member of the South Side Boat Club for 28 years. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a member of AA for 31 years. He proudly carried that AA coin in his pocket every day.
Joe’s greatest love of all things was his grandchildren and he loved watching them play sports whether it was basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, running cross country or track, you could always find him in the crowd cheering them on with a big smile on his face. He was always so proud of them.
Also surviving are his children: Debbie (Rich) Cook of Quincy; David (Dana) Hussong of Liberty; Mark (Katy Crouch) Hussong of Quincy and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the apple of his eye: Grandchildren: Alexis Schaffer (Mariano Cibran) of Tampa, Florida, Brady Cook of Quincy, Katie Cook of Quincy, Great-grandchildren: Easton Cibran of Tampa, Florida and Krue Holtschlag of Quincy and step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Cory Cook and his children, Peyton & Lincoln of New London, Missouri and Cohl Cook of Clarence, Missouri. He is also survived by his sisters, Barb (Skip) Rueter of Quincy and Kim (Ronda) Hussong of Farmington, Missouri and a brother, Randy Hussong of Quincy and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Hussong.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
