JWCC truck driver training program offering open house July 21

QUINCY — The truck driver training program at John Wood Community College will be the site an open house at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, at the Workforce Development Center, 2710 N. 42nd.

Representatives will share how the program has revised its training in response to federal regulations regarding obtaining a CDL, admission requirements, funding options, a night class option and career opportunities in the trucking industry will be discussed. Attendees will also learn about a 16-credit hour, financial aid eligibility, Logistics/Truck Driver Training certificate.

The program uses industry-standard equipment as teaching tools. Class A CDL drivers are in unprecedented demand. Students in the program will be actively recruited by numerous trucking companies, representing both local and national firms. Some employers may fund tuition costs.
