Tri-State Development at Culver-Stockton College names Freeman as director

CANTON, Mo. — Tri-State Development at Culver-Stockton College (C-SC) recently announced the appointment of Sean Freeman as its new director. Freeman has experience in entrepreneurship, higher education and community engagement. He will lead the regional economic development efforts of the program.
Freeman recently served as the entrepreneurial specialist for the Small Business Development Center at the Hannibal Regional Economic Development Council. He provided resources to underserved entrepreneurial communities across a seven-county region.
In a press release, Leslie Sieck, vice president for strategic initiatives at C-SC and former executive director of Tri-State Development, said, “Sean has a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our region, and we are excited to welcome him to this role. His experience, relationships and community-first mindset will be invaluable.”
Freeman previously served as director of admissions at Hannibal-LaGrange University. He will work closely with Sieck, who recently stepped into a new leadership role at C-SC.
Tri-State Development is an initiative of Culver-Stockton College focused on supporting economic and community growth across a 42-county region in northeast Missouri, west-central Illinois and southeast Iowa.
