QUINCY — In partnership with the Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County (HSQAC), The Victory Belles will perform a special presentation at Quincy Community Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9. The event will also feature 12th Street Brass.

The Victory Belles of The National WWII Museum are a charming vocal trio who serenade audiences around the world. Their spirited performances feature dazzling costumes, captivating choreography, audience interaction and WWII-era musical hits that are sung in lovely three-part harmony. The music of the 1940s brought hope and joy to our GIs and those on the Home Front alike, and The Victory Belles keep that tradition alive today.

Their wide variety of repertoire includes treasured gems of the 1940s plus patriotic classics, including a musical salute to each branch of the United States Armed Forces. These talented young women honor our veterans and active-duty members through hundreds of performances each year, including weekly shows at the WWII Museum’s very own Stage Door Canteen.

“With unwavering courage and selfless service, the Greatest Generation defended freedom and shaped the course of our shared history,” said HSQAC executive director Rob Mellon in a press release. “As we approach the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, we honor their extraordinary sacrifice—and the service of all our veterans—with a special performance by the world-renowned Victory Belles. This tribute is dedicated to preserving their legacy and expressing our enduring gratitude for their service to our nation and the world.”

Some of The Victory Belle’s national and international performances include: the Ellis Island Medal of Honor Ceremony; USO Galas in Japan and Hawaii; National Anthems at NFL, MLB and NBA games; USO Guam Six Star Salute; on board the USS Wasp and USS Midway; with military bands including West Point Military Academy; symphony orchestras, countless VA Hospitals and prestigious corporate events.

Tickets are $25, with a $5 discount offered for veterans. Tickets are available at the QCT box office beginning Wednesday, June 30, or online at 1QCT.org.
