Quincy – State Representative Kyle Moore announced Wednesday he is running for re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives in the 99th District.

Moore said he pledges to continue his fight for transparency, conservative values, and the hardworking families of West Central Illinois.

“As your representative, it is a privilege to work for you,” said Moore. “Whether it’s defending constitutional freedoms, supporting law enforcement, or standing up for life, I’ve brought results-driven, conservative leadership to Springfield. I’m running for re-election to keep fighting for you.”

In his first term, Moore said he focused on cutting taxes, rolling back red tape, and promoting transparency and accountability in state government. He said he continued his advocacy for veterans, including passing House Bill 1362, which allows smaller counties to form Multi-County Veterans Assistance Commissions to expand access and improve services for veterans across rural Illinois.

“Politicians in Springfield have made a mess of our state with higher taxes, fewer opportunities, and backwards priorities,” Moore said. “I’m working to make Illinois a state where people can afford to live, work, and raise a family.”

Moore began his career working for his family business, eventually becoming an owner and Vice President. Drawing from his own background as a small business owner, Moore also introduced House Bill 1351, the “Reducing Barriers to Start Act,” which aims to lower startup costs and make it easier for Illinoisans to launch and grow their own businesses.

Moore said he is a lifelong conservative and member of the NRA and Adams County Farm Bureau. He said he spends spare time serving organizations like Big Brother/Big Sisters of West Central Illinois and Adams County Right to Life.

In 2009, Moore made his first run at public and was elected to the Quincy City Council. Moore was elected Mayor in 2013, becoming the first Republican to be elected to that office since 1981. Working with the City Council, Moore was able to pass the city’s first balanced budget since 1999, increased the city’s rainy-day funds and made historic investments in public safety and infrastructure.

In 2018, he formed a bi-partisan group of elected officials and community groups to save the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, which resulted in the State of Illinois providing $230 million for a new campus. Kyle also serves as the President of the Great River Economic Development Foundation where he focuses on job creation and regional growth.

The 99th district stretches from Quincy to Jacksonville, the district includes portions of Adams, Brown, Cass, Morgan and Schuyler counties.

Moore was married this year to his wife, Emily.
