Qcy area youth chorus

QUINCY — The Quincy Area Youth Chorus invites area singers to join them for their 30th season of performances. Girls, and boys with unchanged voices, in grades three through 12 are invited to audition.

Founded in 1995, QAYC is a performing and educational outreach program that supplements school and church choirs. Students gain vocal training and life-long skills while building friendships. Accepted singers will perform as an ensemble at two of their own concerts as well as join the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and Adult Chorus on April 19, 2026 in Morrison Theater.

Kid-friendly auditions for the QAYC will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Christ Lutheran Church, 333 S. 36th St. Auditioning children should prepare a song they enjoy singing. Call the Quincy Symphony office, 217-222-2856 x11, to sign up for an audition time.

The QAYC consists of two performing groups:  The Kinderchor for the younger singers is directed by Megan Masterman and the Concert Choir for older members is directed by Paul Shelor. Rehearsals are held either on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons and begins Aug. 24. Tuition for the season is $80 and includes a $5 costume rental fee. Additional children in the same family are $60. Scholarships are available and no child is denied due to financial need.
