Quincy Humane Society to kick off 145th anniversary year with community celebration Sunday, July 20

QUINCY — Quincy Humane Society will kick off its 145th anniversary with a celebration from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at Lorenzo Bull Park, 1550 Maine St. This event launches a year of programs and outreach honoring 145 years of compassionate service to the pets and people of Quincy and the surrounding area.
This event will bring the people and pets of our community together to celebrate Quincy Humane Society’s significant milestone, celebrate those who were the voices for the animals in our community when they were needed most, and our favorite, the countless lives that we have impacted since its founding in 1880. The kick-off will set the stage for a year of special events and community outreach that reflect the Quincy Humane Society’s mission of providing shelter, care and advocacy for animals in need.
“Our 145th anniversary is more than a celebration – it’s a tribute to every animal, adopter, volunteer, staff member, community members and organizations who have been a special part of our journey,” said Pilar Brumbaugh, executive director, in a press release. “We are here for the Quincy community, and we are here because of the support we receive from the Quincy community. This kick-off is just the beginning of an exciting year ahead, and we want the whole community to be a part of it.”
Since 1880, Quincy Humane Society has provided shelter, care and advocacy for animals in need. As a privately funded, no-kill facility, the organization depends on the generosity of donors and the dedication of its volunteers, staff and board members to continue its mission.
