Betty A Miller — Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home

Betty Miller, 79, of rural Camp Point, IL, passed away at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Born September 16, 1945, in Quincy, Betty was the daughter of Eldon Raymond and Marjorie Elizabeth Muder Miller.
Betty worked for several companies in Quincy before pursuing her passion for the open road as a truck driver and later farming in the Camp Point area. She was well known throughout the region for her competitive spirit and her pulling tractor, Kitchen Maid, which she proudly ran in tractor pulls for many years.
A true gearhead at heart, Betty was born with racing in her blood. From three-wheelers to stock cars, trucks, and pulling tractors, she raced just about anything with wheels. She especially loved building motors and spent countless nights in the garage alongside “the boys,” wrenching, fixing, and building engines. Her face lit up with joy whenever an engine turned over and roared to life on the first try.
Betty is survived by her sister, Merry Miller of rural Quincy, and her two beloved dogs: Dash, an Australian Shepherd, and Mikey, a golden Labradoodle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carol Miller; and her brother, Glen Miller.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorials may be made to the Quincy Kennel Club, Homeward Bound Waggin, or K-9 Connection.
