QU exceeds annual QU fund goal, sets new record

QUINCY — Quincy University has surpassed its annual QU Fund goal of $1.5 million for the 2024-2025 academic year and has set a new fundraising record in the process.

With the support of alumni, parents, community members and friends, the university raised $1.55 million for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. This year’s fundraising total becomes the new all-time record for annual gifts to the QU Fund. The previous record for the QU Fund was just over $1.4 million and was set one year ago in 2024. This 2025 total of $1.55 million represents an 8% increase over the former record.

The QU Fund provides vital support for student scholarships, campus programs and the university’s mission-centered operations. Large, one-time gifts to the university are generally not included in QU Fund totals.

“Most QU Fund support comes from our alumni and friends who give steadily and sacrificially, one year after another,” said Brian McGee, Ph.D., QU president, in a press release. “Just a few years ago, our annual QU Fund totals were typically about $1 million. The astonishing growth in annual financial support for Quincy University since 2020 is a tribute to our donors and their commitment to this wonderful Catholic and Franciscan institution and our Success by Design program.”

Donors to the QU Fund have continued to ensure access to a values-driven, Catholic liberal arts education and to extend the 165 years of the university’s mission to help students learn, grow and lead.

In January 2025, Quincy University announced that total mid-year giving for QU had already exceeded all previous total fundraising records. In a few days, QU will announce its final fundraising total for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
