Quincy Police announce arrest of suspect for 8th Street arson fire

QUINCY — Quincy Police arrested a woman Friday in connection with a house fire last month.
Paula Johnson, 41, Quincy, for Aggravated Arson of a vacant house at 808 S. 8th Street.
Nobody was hurt in the fire, which happened on June 22.
Investigators with the Quincy Fire Department determined quickly that there must have been human involvement since there were no utilities or storms at the time of the fire.
In a Facebook post on Friday, QPD said they conducted “numerous interviews that culminated today with the arrest.”
At last report, Johnson remained in the Adams County Jail. No details yet on her court appearance.
Quincy Police also noted they and fire investigators continue to work on solving other vacant house fires that happened within the city.
“At this time, Johnson is not considered a suspect in other fires but those investigations are ongoing,” the police statement read.
