Preliminary hearing for Quincy man charged with unauthorized videotaping of employees continued to February

QUINCY — A preliminary hearing for the owner of a Quincy digital marketing and communications company accused of secretly videotaping some of his employees while they were in a locker room/restroom has been continued.

John Rokusek, 59, did not appear before Judge Tad Brenner Thursday morning. He is represented by Denny Woodworth, but public defender Chris Pratt appeared for Rokusek for the brief hearing. Assistant state’s attorney Laura Keck represented Adams County.

Brenner set the preliminary hearing for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 3.

Rokusek was charged Nov. 22 with five counts of unauthorized video recording. Charging documents show two victims are involved with the five counts, but the investigation shows Rokusek allegedly had more than 200 videos on his phone of people recorded in a locker room/bathroom area of the business. Conceivably, Rokusek could face as many as 200 counts. 

Rokusek Design is housed in a renovated firehouse located at 519 S. 18th. All videos examined so far apparently came from the business and none were taken in a residence.
