Enrollment open for Quincy’s four catholic elementary schools; tuition assistance available, new scholarship announced

QUINCY — Enrollment for the 2022-23 school year is open for Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools. Blessed Sacrament, St. Dominic, St. Francis Solanus and St. Peter offer 3-year-old preschool through eighth grade.

The QCES Foundation has opened applications for tuition assistance for the 2022-23 school year through the FACTS Grant & Aid Management System. Families may apply for one of the three, full-tuition scholarships available through the foundation. Each scholarship has unique parameters. All of them are based on the demonstration of financial need.

• The Fr. Augustus Tolton Scholarship is awarded to one family at each of the four schools. Recipients must be actively-participating, Catholic parishioners of one of the four parishes.
• The Newcomer’s Scholarship is awarded to one family which has not previously been enrolled at one of the four schools. Recipients can be of any faith.
• The recently established St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship is awarded to as many as four students from one or more families who are not currently enrolled in one of the schools. It is intended for students of color, non-Catholic students, students below the poverty level or students with disabilities.

The QCES Foundation awarded more than $100,000 in tuition assistance to more than 60 families, representing nearly 110 students, during the 2021-22 school year. Each family received an average tuition assistance award of more than $1,600.

“We want every area family to see Catholic education as an option for them, regardless of their faith or financial standing,” QCES Board President Elizabeth Brown said. “We are incredibly thankful to our generous supporters whose financial contributions provide an opportunity for more students to experience the high-quality, faith-driven education we offer in each of our elementary schools.”

For families with students entering preschool or Kindergarten, families can learn more by attending open houses and roundups.
