Person threatens Blessing staff with knife, escapes hospital

QUINCY — A person threatened staff members at Blessing Hospital with a knife Thursday night, then escaped the hospital and has still not yet been located as of noon Friday.

Quincy Police responded to Blessing Hospital at 9:53 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had left the building.  A description was obtained, and a search of the surrounding area was conducted, but the suspect was not located.  QPD did not indicate if the person who escaped was a male or a female or why the person was at Blessing.

Blessing Hospital was locked down for a period of time during the incident.  There were no reports of injuries.  The incident is still under investigation.
