Section of Broadway closed briefly as police officers arrest man Thursday night
QUINCY — A section of Broadway was closed briefly Thursday night when a Chicago man was arrested after reportedly pulling a gun during an incident earlier in the evening.
Officers with the Quincy Police Department responded just before 10 p.m. to the area of Bob Mays Park after learning about a road rage incident. The complainant provided officers with a description of the suspect’s vehicle and told officers the driver pulled a gun during the incident.
A few minutes later, officers observed the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Ninth and Broadway. Officers also closed Broadway from Eighth to 10th Street. The driver of the vehicle, Torry Jordan, 24, ignored officers’ requests to exit the vehicle.
After about 30 minutes, Jordan exited the vehicle and was safely taken into custody. No firearms were located. Jordan was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and released on a cash bond.
