Only one DUI arrest made by Adams County Sheriff’s Department during St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period
QUINCY — The Adams County Sheriff’s Department only made one DUI arrest and did not issue anyseat-belt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.
The department also issued citations for
- Speeding (3)
- Disobeying a traffic control device (2)
- Uninsured motor vehicle (3)
- Improper lane usage
- Suspended registration — no insurance
“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason – to save lives,” Sheriff Rich Wagner said in a press release. “Encouraging sober driving and seat-belt use improves safety for all.”
The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” enforcement effort ran March 11-18 to keep impaired drivers off the road and ensure more people buckle up and follow all traffic safety laws. The effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
