Hannibal man jailed after loaded handgun, meth found in vehicle during traffic stop
HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man is in the Marion County Jail facing a charge of trafficking drugs in the first degree and unlawful possession of a weapon after a traffic stop was made.
Officers with the Hannibal Police Department assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad conducted a joint enforcement project with the Missouri State Highway Patrol to combat drug activity within Hannibal. During the enforcement, officers stopped Justin L Fuget, 33, of Hannibal on Friday for a traffic violation.
Officers noticed Fuget exhibited suspicious behavior, and he had a safe with him inside the vehicle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol canine assisted, and a search was conducted of Fuget’s vehicle. A loaded handgun and a large amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine was seized.
A warrant was issued Saturday in the 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County charging Fuget. He remains in the jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
