Grand opening of Hannibal playground postponed
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The grand opening for the new playground equipment at Ann Dorsey Hodgdon Park, located at Rock and Section streets, scheduled for Tuesday night has been postponed due to inclement weather. The event will be rescheduled.
Girl Scout Troop 9012 chose the equipment for the playground from approximately 20 different proposals. The playground includes slides, climbing wall, dome climber, spinning seats and a fish-shaped tunnel. The new playground cost a little more than $68,000. The park also has a new shelter, picnic tables, sidewalks and basketball court. The 11-acre park opened in 1974.
