Boebert, Miller fire up Adams County Conservatives

QUINCY — God, Guns and fighting the “Woke” Liberal agenda.

That was the message Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) brought to Quincy while stumping for her friend, Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL), on Saturday.

It was billed as a “Defend the Second Amendment Rally” at the Holiday Inn, but when talking about a Conservative agenda and predicting a Republican House come next year, Boebert was in full campaign mode in her support for Miller.

“But there is one role that we have at a federal level…and that’s certifying Electoral College results,” Boebert said. “And Mary Miller’s opponent voted to certify the 2020 election, after we saw tens of thousands of ballots go out, unconstitutionally. The Constitution…the U.S. Constitution says that states, the state legislature, determines election law. But you had rogue judges, secretaries of state, attorneys general, bureaucrats…changing election law, breaking state constitutions and the federal constitution, unconstitutionally sending out tens of thousands of ballots right in everyone’s faces. So You’re darn right, we (Boebert and Miller) voted not to certify that election.”

While Boebert’s comments fired up the partisan crown, many Republicans, including Minority Leader MItch McConnell (R-KY), say the 2020 presidential was legitimate and the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear numerous cases that would potentially challenge the results.

The unnamed opponent is one of their congressional colleagues, Republican Rodney Davis (R-IL), who is running against Miller in the 15th District following a realignment by Illinois Democrats. Miller lives just outside of the boundaries of the 15th, but is still eligible to run for the seat.

Boebert, who has made national headlines with her Christmas card featuring all members of her family toting guns and heckling President Joe Biden, called for the president’s impeachment during her speech to a couple hundred people the Holiday Inn ballroom.

“I think that people are awake and are tired of election officials that promise to do something for them and they are actually doing something do them,” Miller said. “She (Boebert) shares my concerns as well as President Trump’s. I was with him this past week at Mar-A-Lago and he shares the same concern: Can our country handle what they (Democrats) are doing?”

The two congresswomen posed for pictures after the speeches with dozens of people, many wearing hats and shirts supporting former President Donald Trump, whose endorsement Miller touts in her campaign ads.

Miller will be back in Quincy on Tuesday, when she and Davis are both scheduled to appear at the May meeting of the Quincy Tea Party.
