Griggsville man in Pike County jail after drug paraphernalia found during traffic stop

GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. — A Griggsville man is in the Pike County Jail after drug paraphernalia was found during a traffic stop.

Deputies with the Pike County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on County Highway 14 on May 9. Subsequent to an investigation, a passenger, William J. Higgins, 44, was arrested on warrants in Pike and Adams county.  

Law enforcement officials from the Pike County Sheriff’s Department executed a court-authorized search warrant at Higgins’s residence in the 100 block of South Bickford in Griggsville.  Methamphetamine and hypodermic syringes were located during the search.

Higgins is jailed on a Pike County warrant, an Adams County warrant and new charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes.
