Elderly person found dead inside mobile home after fire

UPDATE AS OF 1 p.m. WEDNESDAY: The Adams County Coroner has identified Patricia Wardlow, 81, as the resident of the mobile home in the Rancho Vista Estates Mobile Home Park who died in the fire.

QUINCY — An elderly person was found dead inside a mobile home after a fire early Tuesday night.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department were called at approximately 5 p.m. to assist the Tri-Township Fire Department, which had responded to a structure fire in the Rancho Vista Estates mobile home park, 3737 N. 24th. Upon arrival, the deputies were advised that a deceased individual had been located inside the structure. 

The decedent was identified as an 81 year-old resident of the mobile home. No names have been released pending notification of family. The Adams County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Tri-Township Fire Department, the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
