Hannibal Arts Council Past Presidents scholarship awarded to Combs
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Cailee Combs recently was awarded the Hannibal Arts Council Past Presidents scholarship.
Combs, a daughter of Cory and Mary Combs, has a background in vocal music and writing, including her participation in many art-related courses and choirs during her time at Hannibal High School. She will pursue a creative writing major at Missouri State University in Springfield.
“Fine arts classes have always been a safe place for me to get away from anything life threw my way,” Combs said in a press release. “Reading, singing, dancing and acting have always provided me with a breather for when homework ever became too much. I’d absolutely love to be able to change lives one day through my writing.”
The Hannibal Arts Council supports the efforts of young people in Hannibal through our programs and services. The HAC Past Presidents Scholarship is given annually to a Hannibal High School student active in arts-related studies with educational and career goals in any of the following areas: visual, theatrical, vocal, instrumental, dance and literature.
