QU announces recipients of fall 2022 presidential scholarships
QUINCY — Two incoming students at Quincy University recently were awarded a 2022 Father Augustus Tolton Presidential Scholarship, the most prestigious academic scholarship offered to undergraduate students at QU, to Luxe Hitzeroth of Quincy and Benjamin Grindel of Smithtown, N.Y.
“Each year, Quincy University welcomes a talented freshman class to campus,” QU president Brian McGee said in a press release. “Our students succeed, graduate and go on to lives of meaning, accomplishment and purpose. Our two Presidential Scholars for fall 2022 have excelled in every way and will be exceptional academic leaders.”
To be considered for this scholarship, students must attain a minimum ACT score of 26 or a SAT score of 1230 and a high school grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Qualifying students participate in a rigorous selection process, which was held Feb. 5. The two-part selection process includes a timed, written essay and personal interviews with QU faculty. Additional activities included panel discussions and presentations by QU administrators.
“Even by the high standards of Quincy University, our newest freshmen are impressive in every respect,” McGee said. “We are eager for them to arrive on campus.”
