Kudos to the city of Quincy! Someone really does read those emails
The City of Quincy deserves kudos. I’m here to pass them along.
My usual route to and from work takes me from Sixth and Jefferson Streets north to my office.
For weeks, I kept hitting the same darn road depression (not a pothole) when heading home on Sixth south of Washington Street — well, unless some unsuspecting driver in front of me hit it and gave me due warning to veer.
I kept thinking: Maybe I should contact the mayor, or an alderman, or someone else about this? Never got around to it until several days ago.
I went to the city’s website portal and thought Central Services might be a good contact. So, I emailed CentralServices@quincy.gov and mentioned the depression.
How many times do we email one of these anonymous and even not-so-anonymous addresses? Nothing happens. No response.
Not this time!
Heading home that very evening, the depression was nicely filled.
Someone did read and, impressively, promptly acted by fixing the depression. Kudos!
Something needed or on your mind? Email the city of Quincy. Someone is reading them.
I do have another matter I might email about.
Why hasn’t that long-existing hole in the alley behind the former Kirlin Building been taken care of by the out-of-town contractor hired to fix it?
Where’s that email address?
