Good Samaritan Home’s ‘Stars and Sapphires’ fundraising gala set for Friday
QUINCY — Good Samaritan Home will hold “Stars & Sapphires,” a fundraising gala, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at the Corinthian Event Center, 415 Hampshire.
The gala will be the first held since 2018 due to complications and the pandemic. Funds raised go to the Good Samaritan Home Foundation, which financially supports the home and its mission of compassionate, Christian care in a charitable community.
Good Samaritan first opened its doors in 1957 and is celebrating its 65th anniversary. In a press release, Nathan Halfpap, director of outreach at Good Samaritan, said “Fundraising is so very important to a non-profit organization like ours. We are overjoyed to be able to finally hold this gala, raise money for our home and our mission and celebrate our 65 years of service to our community.”
The event is open to the public. It features dinner and drinks, a silent auction, a wine pull, caricature artist and live music from Raised on Radio. To reserve a seat, donate or for more information, log on to www.givebutter.com/65thgala or call 217-223-8717.
