Rotary Club to hold ninth annual Oktoberfest street festival on Saturday
QUINCY — The Rotary Club’s Oktoberfest returns on Saturday, Sept. 24, with three high-energy bands.
Admission is free from noon-10 p.m. in the German historic district outside of Dick Brothers Brewery on York Street between Ninth and 10th.
Beer trucks from major local distributors will be offering dozens of domestic and German beers as well as wine. The Ratskeller bar, along with Dick Brothers Museum, will be open during the event.
The popular guided tunnel tours are available for $10 per person from noon-5 p.m. in the caverns beneath the brewery complex. Sign-up is available onsite or in advance at dickbrothersbrewery.com to ensure time slots.
The Rotary Club will serve German-themed food from noon-7 p.m. along with a selection of food truck offerings.
All ages are invited to “run” the Beer and Brat Dash at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. through the streets of the festival. The coveted dash stickers will be on hand for those who finish the 200-meter race. Race cost is $12 per person. Register the day of the event at the west information station.
The festival also will offer axe throwing from Quincy Axe Company.
Dance in the streets to funky polka music from Eddie Korosa and the Boys from Illinois from noon-3 p.m., followed by the Folsom Five Prison Band from 3-6 p.m. and the Gentlemen performing from 7-10 p.m.
The Oktoberfest after party will be held from 10 p.m.-1 a.m. at The Ratskeller. Advance tickets can be bought online at dickbrothersbrewery.com.
All proceeds will benefit local Rotary club projects.
