WIU looking for volunteers for dementia research
Despite the increase in knowledge about Alzheimers and other dementias, with the growing number of adults reaching age 65, the battle continues. And with that battle, the number of families having to deal with loved ones suffering from the disease never wains.
Western Illinois University researchers are searching for volunteers for a new study examining the daily stress and well-being of those that are caretakers for family members diagnosed with Alzheimers.
Over 6.5 million Americans are living with Alzheimers and other dementia in the US. About one in nine people over the age of 65 suffer from the disease. Alzheimers accounts for around 70% of dementia cases.
If you would be interested in helping WIU researchers with this research project, reach out to Paulina Wuestefeld at p-wuestefeld@wiu.org or call 309-237-8803.
Those participating will be eligible to receive Visa gift cards through random drawings.
