Quincy University welcomes seven new full-time faculty members for 2022-23 school year

QUINCY — Quincy University has added seven full-time faculty members for the 2022-23 school year. Joining the QU community this fall are:

  • Siyuan Fan, PhD candidate, assistant professor of finance
  • David Hawkins, PhD, associate professor of marketing
  • Laura Hubbard, MS, visiting instructor of biology
  • Katherine Kraushaar, MLIS, associate librarian
  • Stephen Priebe, PhD candidate, assistant professor of education
  • Padraic Rohan, PhD, assistant professor of history
  • Faten Shaeib, PhD, assistant professor of biology

Fan is a PhD candidate in finance with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Fan received her bachelor’s degree from Nanjing Tech University in Nanjing, China. She served as instructor and teaching assistant in business courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2017-2021. Fan also worked with the New Times Securities Co., Ltd., in China as a stockbroker intern.

Hawkins holds a doctoral degree in business administration (marketing/management) from Northcentral University in San Diego. He earned a master’s degree in marketing/international business from Dallas Baptist University. Hawkins served as associate professor and chair of the division of business at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 2013-22. Hawkins’ was a contributing author to Entrepreneurship (2020) and has written company profiles and histories of companies featured in Texas Construction and Irving Business Journal.

Hubbard received her master’s degree in biological science in 2015 from Western Illinois University. She was a biology instructor at Victor Valley Community College in California and served as campus COVID-19 risk manager. Hubbard’s publications include “Maximizing the Wildlife Conservation Value of Road Right-Of-Ways in an Agriculturally Dominated Landscape.” Hubbard is a 2009 Quincy University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Kraushaar received her degree in 2004 from the University of Illinois with a focus on public librarianship, reference and reader’s advisory services for adults, young adults and children. She served as the reference librarian for Quincy Public Library from 2004-22. Kraushaar is the information literacy and electronic resources librarian for Quincy University.

Priebe is completing his dissertation to earn a doctoral degree in education from William Woods University. He served as adjunct professor in education at Quincy University from 2020-22. He was a school administrator at Iles Elementary in Quincy from 2019-22. Priebe was a secondary principal at Canton High School from 2018-19 and secondary assistant principal at Canton High School from 2012-18.

Rohan holds a master’s degree in history and a doctoral degree in history from Stanford University. Rohan was the Humanities & Sciences Dean’s Fellow and lecturer in history at Stanford from 2021-22, and he served as a teaching assistant at Stanford from 2017-21. Rohan held several teaching positions at institutions in Istanbul from 2009-14. He worked as a foreign correspondent for France 24, Paris based in Istanbul from 2011- 14, and for PressTV, Tehran, Iran, reporting from Turkey and Iraq in 2008. Rohan has 10 research publications.

Shaeib holds a doctoral degree in physiology with a concentration in reproductive science from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Shaeib also holds bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degrees from the University of Zawia Faculty of Medicine in Libya. She has contributed to 12 research presentations.
