Hannibal man facing child molestation, sexual misconduct charges pleads guilty, gets 15 years in Department of Corrections

HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man received a 15-year sentence to the Missouri Department of Corrections on Wednesday.

John A. Denslow, 26, pled guilty in Marion County Circuit Court to charges of child molestation in the second degree and sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15. He appeared before Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd and was represented by public defender Jennifer Richardson.

Denslow admitted that on or about July 6, 2018, he touched the genitals of a child and exposed himself to the child to arouse his own sexual gratifications. He received 15 years on the Class B felony charge of child molestation in the second degree. He received 4 years on the Class E felony of sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15. The sentences will run concurrently. Each sentence reflects the maximum punishment prescribed by law.

Denslow was given credit for having served 1,165 days in the Marion County Jail.

The case was investigated by the Hannibal Police Department and prosecuted by Luke Bryant, prosecuting attorney in Marion County.
