Blessing Convenient Care Clinic in Canton, Mo., to close Saturday

Blessing Express Clinic

CANTON, Mo. — With its lease expiring, the Blessing Convenient Care Clinic inside the County Market store in Canton will close at the end of business Saturday, Nov. 12.  Staff members will join the Blessing Express Clinic in Quincy.

“Blessing Express Clinic offers everything Convenient Care does and more,” Tena Awerkamp, director of primary health for Blessing Health, said in a press release. “With longer hours and increased size of the facility, Express Clinic sees more patients than Convenient Care can, and people tell us they appreciate the ease of access and care options Blessing Express Clinic offers.”

Blessing Express Clinic, 3400 Broadway, provides drive-through care so patients do not have to leave their vehicles to see a provider. Traditional exam rooms also are available. Blessing Express Clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Care is provided to patients 18 months and older for:

  • Allergies
  • Bumps, cuts and scrapes
  • Cold and flu symptoms and flu vaccine
  • Ear infections
  • Eye and skin irritations
  • Insect stings or bites
  • Physicals for school and sports
  • Respiratory illnesses and COVID testing
  • Sinus infections
  • Sore throat, pharyngitis or strep
  • Urinary tract infection

No appointment is needed. Calling ahead to 217-214-9626 speeds up the registration process.

The Blessing Walk-In Clinic inside Blessing Hospital at 11th Street in Quincy is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day including holidays. The Hannibal Clinic Walk-In Clinic at 100 Medical Drive in Hannibal is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

Blessing’s other Convenient Care Clinics — both in the Hy-Vee stores in Quincy — closed during the pandemic. The staffs were transferred initially to the Flu-Like Illness Screening Center at 28th and Chestnut, then to Blessing Express Clinic when it opened to meet patient demand. Those clinics did not reopen.

Blessing Health System closed its hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, on Oct. 1. It also eliminated about 150 positions on Oct. 11.
