Filing period for petitions for Park Board candidates begins Dec. 12

QUINCY — The one-week filing period for petitions for candidates for the Quincy Park Board begins Monday, Dec. 12.

People to be considered a candidate for the Quincy Park District’s Board of Commissioners must have 157 signatures on a petition. Candidates also must complete and file a Statement of Economic Interest form that is filed with the petitions. Click here for a packet of information for candidates. Petitions have been available to be circulated since Sept. 20.

Three four-year seats and one two-year seat are available. Voting for seats on the Park Board will be during the consolidated election on April 4, 2023.

Nathan Koetters announced in September would not run for re-election. Jeff Steinkamp and Roger Leenerts are serving four-year terms that will expire in April. Jeff VanCamp is completing a two-year term that also will expire in April. He was chosen to complete David Gilbert’s term after he resigned in June.

The filing period for petitions ends Dec. 19.
