Homan court appearance delayed

Steven Homan

This week’s court appearance for Steve Homan, owner of The Barn nightclub, has been pushed back to next week.

Adams County State’s Attorney Gary Farha said Homan’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum of St. Louis, requested the continuance.

The appearance is now scheduled for May 11. The prosecution is expected to present its findings at the appearance and Homan is expected to make a plea. Homan was charged with one count of aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony, following an incident involving a Quincy University basketball player. Jazzpher Evans, 19, alleges Homan attacked her.

A grand jury found sufficient evidence for Homan to stand trial last week.

Homan, 47, turned himself into police on April 15. His bail had been set at $25,000. He posted $2,500 and was released.
