CLARKSVILLE, Mo. — Clarksville Eagle Days, an annual event that celebrates an iconic American symbol, will he held Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28-29. In a press release, Raintree board member and community volunteer Linda Blakey said, “We are fortunate to have such a wonder in our small town. Eagle Days is a great time of the year to get out when it is cold and warm your spirits by seeing the national bird.”

“We hope to draw many people who are looking for a fun opportunity to see the eagles in their natural habitat and experience the incredible live eagle shows,” Raintree president Ashley Branstetter added.

Clarksville will boast an additional stop for visitors this year with the opening of the Riverside Restaurant December. Cherry’s and the Clarksville Boat Club will also offer food during Eagle Days as well as a concession stand by The American Legion Riders. The Clarksville Antique Center, which draws customers from around the nation, and several other shops will offer unique items for purchase.

World Bird Sanctuary of St. Louis will present free eagle shows at The Apple Shed at the top of each hour both days. Vendors and artistic works will be available along with the Master Naturalist organization offering children’s activities.

Riverfront Park, just south of Lock and Dam 24, provide eagles with the open water they need to hunt for fish. The Corps of Engineers will have viewing scopes set up for people who do not have binoculars.
