Bluhm named United Way executive director
QUINCY — The United Way of Adams County board of directors has taken the “interim” tag off and Nancy Bluhm has been officially named as the organization’s new executive director effective today.
“We are excited to add someone with Nancy’s experience and leadership skills to direct our organization’s positive impact on the community,” says Ryan Whicker, President of the United Way board.
Bluhm is the former administrator for the Adams County Health Department, where she worked before 26 years before leaving in 2012. Bluhm has been a member of the United Way Board since 2016 and has served as board president since February 2022. She resigned from that role in order to take the interim director position in November 2022 following the departure of Jeremy Wingerter.
Bluhm holds a BSN from Valparaiso University and a MS from SIU-Edwardsville.
“I am honored and humbled by the Board’s decision to give me the opportunity to lead United Way of Adams County,” Bluhm said. “I am excited to work collaboratively and build relationships within the community to further improve the quality of life in our region.”
“We’re looking forward to adding the leadership Nancy brings with her to the already great support and momentum United Way has in our community,” said Ben VanNess, President-Elect of the United Way board. “Her strengths help organizations like ours achieve their full potential and we’re eager to start working in collaboration with her.”
United Way of Adams County will announce the results of the 2022 annual campaign at its annual meeting on Thursday, March 2 at the Town & Country Inn and Suites. Social hour will begin at 5 pm with the program starting at 6 pm.
Tickets are $20 per person and attendees must RSVP by calling 217-222-5020. You can also find the registration link at www.unitedewayadamsco.org.
