Keokuk man charged with unlawful use of weapons
WARSAW, Ill. — A Keokuk, Iowa man was arrested Monday and charged with unlawful use of weapons.
Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 2:10 p.m. to a disturbance at 1775 Main. As they investigated the disturbance, a deputy made contact with Richard E. Rhodes, 36, of Keokuk and Christopher C. Rhodes, 33, of Keokuk. Both had left the scene on bicycles as deputies arrived.
During the investigation, Richard Rhodes began to position his body and hold his waist with his right hand. That led the deputy to ask if he had weapons. The deputy then began to pat down Richard Rhodes, who then pulled away and attempted to run away.
Richard Rhodes was apprehended. A large hunting knife was found concealed on his waist, and a set of brass knuckles were found in his pocket. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail. A subsequent charge of resisting a peace officer will be requested at a court appearance.
