QUINCY — A public open house will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Blessing Cancer Center.

“We recently renovated the medical oncology area of the Cancer Center,” said Maureen Kahn, president and chief executive officer of Blessing Health System and Blessing Hospital.  “We have also added several cancer specialists to the team and secured prestigious national reaccreditations from the American College of Radiation Oncology and the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer. All those factors led us to want to invite the public to an open house. We hope remind them or let them see for the first time the tremendous resource that is the Blessing Cancer Center.”

Blessing Hospital began providing cancer care in 1963. The Blessing Cancer Center opened in September 2003 on the hospital’s 11th Street campus in Quincy to bring together for the first time under one roof the specialties of medical oncology, radiation oncology and support services for patients.

Those attending the open house should park in the hospital’s main parking lot on 11th Street between Spring and Oak and use the main entrance across 11th Street from the parking lot.

Tours will be conducted through medical oncology, radiation oncology and two infusion centers. Physicians and staff will be available to answer questions. Refreshments will be served. People attending the open house must wear a mask.
