Sporting Clays fundraising event May 10 to support local scouting
QUINCY — Mississippi Valley Boy Scouts of America will hold a sporting clays fundraiser Wednesday, May 10, at Saukenauk Scout Reservation. Check-in will start at 10 a.m. followed by a bag lunch at noon. A safety talk will be given at 12:45 with a shotgun start immediately following the talk. The day will end with dinner at 5 p.m.
Sporting Clays, an adult fundraising event that supports local scouting, has cash prizes and awards for top shooters and top teams, a silent auction and 16 stations of clay bird obstacles including doubles, chandelle/teal and rabbit stations.
Cost is $160 per shooter or $960 for a team of six. Participants may bring their ATV, UTV, side by side or rent a golf cart.
Registration forms can be picked up and returned to either the Quincy or Burlington Scout Shop locations.
This event will help ensure approximately 1,500 youths along the Mississippi River continue to receive the best scouting program possible. All proceeds will remain local to support scouting.
