Connie Sue Waters
Connie Sue Waters, 77, of O’Fallon, Mo., formerly of Quincy, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.
She was born on Monday, October 8, 1945 in Quincy, Ill., the daughter of Frank & Rachael R. (Royalty) Tipton. She married Charles W. “Bill” Waters on Nov. 6, 1965 in St. Boniface Catholic Church. He survives. Connie was a graduate of the Gem City Business College. Connie did secretarial work at Chaddock School and the Quincy Healthcare Management, retiring in 2015. Connie was a member of Melrose Chapel.
Connie was the president of the Moberly (Mo.) Lioness Club. She also was a member of the Elks. Connie loved square dancing and line dancing and was involved in many fundraising activities over the years. Connie also played cards and dominos every week for several years.
Connie loved time spent with family. She loved Christmas most of all with all of the shopping and preparations. On Christmas Eve with all of the kids, she fixed her famous and delicious cheese soup with Papa Murphy’s pizza. On Christmas Day, she would prepare roast beef with all the trimmings for 30 to 35 people.
In addition to her husband, Connie is also survived by:
- THREE SONS: Brent Waters (Melanie), Damon Waters and Jeffrey Waters.
- GRANDCHILDREN: Dylan Charles Waters, Andrew Jon William Waters and Paige Lauren Waters.
- SISTER: Nancy Schnoor.
- NIECES & NEPHEWS: Charlene Willis, Jim Tipton (Mary), David Tipton (Patti), Julie Royson, Peggy Schnoor and Lisa Schnoor.
- Numerous other relatives and friends including cousin Larry Royalty (Susie) also survive.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Tipton, along with his wife, Norma.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Disabled Athlete Sports Association.
