Marching band from Clark County to participate in St. Patrick’s Day parade Friday in New York City
KAHOKA, Mo. — Members of the Clark County High School marching band will participate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Friday, March 17 in New York City.
Directed by Robert Dooley, the marching band and color guard left Wednesday and is traveling by charter bus to New York. Known as the oldest and largest civilian parade in the world, the Manhattan-based event typically has 150,000 participants and more than 1 million spectators during the day-long celebration.
After the parade, Clark County students will visit iconic venues in New York City such as the Empire State Building, the 911 Memorial, the American History Museum and the Wall Street Financial District. They also will attend a Broadway musical.
Students and supporters of the Clark County marching band have been raising funds for the trip throughout the school year through various community events and fundraisers.
